Germany opens doors to some Eastern European skilled workers

Two major changes in German immigration policies have come into effect as of November first. Skilled migrants in electrical and mechanical engineering from the Eastern European nations that joined the European Union in 2004 will now be allowed into Germany without the need to show that there are no suitable job applicants from the local labor market.
