HSMP versus Tier 1 February 2008
The United Kingdom's points-based Tier 1 visa will replace the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP), beginning with extensions for existing leave to remain from 29 February 2008 and more changes from April. There are benefits for applying while the old rules are still in place, such as easier English language requirements and the MBA provision, which will be removed when Tier 1 is implemented. This video has an analysis by one of our consultants, and there is a companion article with more information.
