UK Tier-system sponsorship 2008-01-30tags: advert: 'Sponsorship' will play an important role in the United Kingdom's new, points-based Tier system. With the exception of the highly skilled Tier 1, potential immigrants will require a sponsor in the UK who will be responsible for them. In most cases, sponsors will be an employer or an educational institution. Sponsors must be certified by the UK's Border and Immigration Agency (BIA). Immigrants will need a 'certificate of sponsorship' when applying for an entry clearance.
