On 2 October 2008, the United States will begin accepting applications for the 2010 Diversity Visa Lottery (DV-2010) -- otherwise known as the Green Card Lottery. The application submission period will end on 1 December 2008.
If you are a citizen of a country with low levels of immigration into the US, you can enter your details for the Green Card Lottery. If selected you can then apply for a permanent residence visa which will allow you to live and work in America; 55,000 Diversity Visas will be made available through the Green Card Lottery.
