The US Green Card Lottery
Each year, 50,000 United States permanent resident visas are given away to citizens of countries with low immigration rates into the U.S. through a lottery process. If, after a random selection process, you receive a permanent resident visa through the DV-2014 (Green Card) Lottery, you can live and work permanently in the United States. You can also bring your spouse and any unmarried children under the age of 21.
The United States Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery for 2014 (DV-2014 Lottery) will begin at 12:00pm, EDT, 2 October 2012 and end at 12:00pm EST, 3 November 2012. Submitting your application through workpermit.com can give you peace of mind that you will have your application ready on time.
Green Card Lottery guarantee
workpermit.com guarantees that based on the information submitted, your Green Card Lottery entry will be submitted online to the Department of State in the correct format. If we find after you have paid workpermit.com that you do not meet the requirements for entry to the Lottery we will refund the fees. However, workpermit.com cannot guarantee that your entry will be selected.
Each year, citizens of nations with large numbers of citizens immigrating to the United States are not eligible for the Green Card Lottery. A list of ineligible countries is not yet available for the DV-2013 green card lottery so please check back soon. For the DV-2014 Green Card Lottery, citizens of the following countries are not eligible:
- CHINA (mainland-born)
- DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
- EL SALVADOR
- SOUTH KOREA
- UNITED KINGDOM (except Northern Ireland)
Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are eligible.
