NZIS raises pass mark to 30

Support migrant centric journalism today and donate

From 7 October 2002, the points required for a passmark in the General Skills Category will be 30. The change is being made in order to manage the 2002-2003 New Zealand Immigration Programme.

While this may restrict some potential migrants from qualifying under the General Skills Category, we would like to remind everyone that there remain a number of other policy options available for those with relevant skills or business ventures. These include the Talent Visa, Long Term Business Visa, and Priority Occupations List policies. In addition, people overseas with job offers in labour shortage areas can apply for work permits under General Work Policy.
