More non EU/EEA Tier 4 students International students will be banned from working in the UK while they study. Many Tier 4 students will be forced to leave the country when their studies finish under tough new rules to be outlined next week. There are significant immigration rule changes for Tier 4 students at publicly funded further education colleges; They will be treated in a similar way to those at privately funded further education colleges. University students will not be so badly effected. Many of the changes will take place in August and November this year.

The number of Australian Temporary Work (Skilled) (Subclass 457) visa applications rose by 15% between 2014 and 2015, according to the latest figures released by the Australian Immigration Department.

The tougher approach towards immigration in Britain is impacting on the country's image around the globe.

The Migrant Integration Policy Index is a ranking system that looks at the commitment of countries to the integration of its legal migrants; Britain has fallen 5 places in the last 5 years. The 2015 edition of the Migrant Integration Policy Index, published on June 30, by MIPEX, ranks Britain 15th overall. In 2010, the country ranked 10th.

In her first interview of the 2016 presidential race, screened on CNN on Tuesday, 7 July, Hillary Clinton who is hoping to be the Democratic presidential candidate criticized the Republican Party for its 'spectrum of hostility' towards immigrants.

Refusal of visas 'Unfriendly' move, says Russian Embassy

Visas for 8 of Russia's 10 science delegates were refused, leaving the team unable to attend an international UN conference on satellite navigation systems which started on 14 July 2015, in a move described as 'unfriendly' by the Russian Embassy in Australia.

A panel of 3 judges at an appeals court in New Orleans heard arguments on July 10th regarding an executive order by US president Barrack Obama which could potentially halt the deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants.

Hundreds of pro-immigration protestors gathered outside the courthouse, with the New Orleans police department saying that 14 people were arrested for what organiser called acts of 'civil disobedience'. Those arrested were quickly released.
