The UK government has made some significant changes affecting Tier-1 visas. These apply to immigration application under the following Tier 1 visa categories:

Tier 1 (Investor)Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent)

The changes were implemented on 6th November 2014.

Australia and China signed a free-trade agreement on 17 November 2014, which include a number of changes to immigration between the two countries.

The measures were announced as part of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA). This will result in more Chinese nationals coming to Australia, however some people in Australia are concerned about the impact this may have on the jobs market in Australia.

The US election and its impact on immigration

Following the US Congressional elections earlier this month, President Obama is pushing through with his promised immigration reforms by executive action. This will effectively bypass Congress.
