Australian Immigration Minister Chris Bowen has announced the creation of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Skilled Migration (MACSM) which will provide the Australian government with expert advice on the role of skilled migration in the Australian economy.
In order to attract more Indian tourists, the US has announced that eligible visa applicants will be able to apply for a US visa without being interviewed in person."US Department of State has implemented a programme that will allow certain applicants to apply for visas without being interviewed in person at a US consular office," US Ambassador to India Nancy J. Powell said.Under the Interview Waiver Programme, it will become easier for Indians to visit the US for tourism and business trips.

Two UK Lords, members of the House of Lords, have warned that the UK continues to look unattractive to foreign students applying for Tier 4 visas and that the government should exclude students from net migration figures. The House of Lords works with the UK House of Commons in making laws and in reviewing government decisions. Most members of the House of Lords are appointed.

We are happy to report that it is now easier for UK workers and others to immigrate to work in Australia since the Australian government has lowered the current pass mark for their SkillSelect program. Australian immigration announced last month that the pass mark to qualify for EOI - SkillSelect would be lowered to 60 points from 1 July 2012. Previously, applicants needed a points score of 65 points to meet the requirements for skilled immigration.
